Swalwell cancels five New Hampshire events

WEARE, N.H. — California Congressman Eric Swalwell cancelled five scheduled events in New Hampshire on Wednesday morning, including Wednesday afternoon meet and greets in Epping, New Hampshire and Weare, New Hampshire.

"We were notified by his New Hampshire political director around 5:30 [a.m.] that he opted to spend time with his family today and tomorrow and cancelled all five events," said Bev Cotton, treasurer of the Weare Democrats.

The Old Town Hall in Weare, New Hampshire, where Eric Swalwell was scheduled to hold a 4:30 p.m. meet and greet on Wednesday, announced "Today's Event Is Cancelled" on a roadside sign.

Swalwell also cancelled three Fourth of July parade appearances, in Amherst, New Hampshire, Merrimack, New Hampshire and Laconia, New Hampshire, for Thursday. The cancellations come as Swalwell is struggling to qualify for the last spot in the second debates.

The Swalwell campaign did not respond to a request for comment.
